Indications have emerged that Gov Rochas Okorocha, may have started tactical withdrawal from the agenda of Uche Nwosu for governor amid unrelenting opposition to the plot which has set Imo polity on fire.
According to impeccable sources within the corridor of power in the state having seen that the Uche project is doomed, the governor is currently thinking seriously about buying into the Owerri for governor project.
Nigeria Newspoint gathered that this seeming changing mindset of the governor dominated discussions in a recent meeting of Owerri Zone leaders held in the state capital.
The meeting reportedly analysed the current political situation in the state vis a vis the 2019 governorship election and also received reports of the intrigues and Schemings in the polity.
Expectedly, Gov Okorocha’s camp issue dominated discussions especially his quest to foist his in law as his successor in 2019.
It was gathered one of the prominent leaders who is known to be close to the governor had calmed frayed nerves by informing those at the meeting that the governor may have bought the idea that the Uche Nwosu project would be a very hard sell and therefore, is on the verge of buying into the Owerri zone agenda.
But, another government house source however told our correspondent that the Ugwumba Nwosu governorship agenda is one whose time has come and that Gov Okorocha has not abandoned it.
